2002 Parade of Homes

2002 parade of homesBallantrae Park & Residential Golf Community was the host to "The 2002 Parade of Homes".  P & D Builders won the Peoples Choice Award and the Silver Award for the library/den.

This classic British manor built by P&D Builders, Ltd. has distinct architectural details -- bowed two-story windows, art glass transoms, European “pebble-dash” stucco finish, a gated entry English garden, a spectacular glass British conservatory and lavish woodwork throughout.

The authentic all-glass British hexagon conservatory at the rear of the home offers panoramic fairway views and will be a warm inviting retreat year-round.  A two-sided fireplace, with custom European mantles, connects the conservatory to the two-story great room and kitchen/breakfast room.

Custom details are accentuated throughout this house. The large gourmet kitchen has an eating bar peninsula, custom Shaker cherry cabinets including a custom Amish oak cherry Shaker movable island, granite countertops, hand finished four-inch cherry wood flooring, interior exposed brick walls and a 60 square foot pantry.

The dining room beckons to entertain – measuring more than 18 feet deep it features bowed windows with transoms, and a unique tray ceiling.

This home offers privacy and flexibility with two “transitional” floors. The lavish master suite is located on a “transitional” floor halfway between the first and second floor. The suite includes an elegant custom shower, separate vanity room, his and her two-tiered walk-in closets and a 14-foot dramatic coffered tray ceiling. A den/study is also located on this floor – built-ins include a bookcase with rolling ladder.

Ballantrae rabbitsThe second floor includes three additional bedrooms with full bathrooms. A computer center is also located on the second floor loft.

But the “pot of gold” in this home is the 540-square foot home theater with a 12-foot ceiling, performing stage, concession bar, accent lighting, and Da-Lite 119-inch diagonal screen with high definition format. This magical room is on the second “transitional” floor halfway between the first floor and the basement. Adjacent to the theater room is an exercise room that could also be used as a fifth bedroom with full bath.

Other features not to overlook – there is a large laundry room on the first floor and a separate mudroom located off the garage with built-in lockers. For home energy conservation and efficiency there is a Rinnae Continuous Hot Water System – which means no hot water tanks. The three-car garage features a two-car side entry with a separate oversized one-car garage – perfect for housing a boat or RV.
